Hi there
I’m glad you called in. I’ve been blogging for a while, but this is my new site, for a new season. I recently moved to Edinburgh with my husband, Rich, and our three kids, Josiah, Esther and Samuel.
I guess you noticed the site name is small things with great love. It’s taken from Mother Teresa’s famous quote:
Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.
I believe that love makes the greatest difference in our lives. Seemingly small things done with great love can change anything and anyone.
The bible makes it clear that love is the most powerful force in the world:
Three things will last forever — faith, hope, and love — and the greatest of these is love.
I believe that the source of love is my Maker, who walked as flesh and blood over 2000 years ago. His name was Jesus, and He shows me what perfect love looks like. He loves me so much, both broken & beautiful as I am.
I know He feels the same way about you too.
I have lots of doubts and lots of questions. And most of the time I don’t love very well … which is where Jesus comes in: his mercy, forgiveness and love bridges the gap between my failings and God’s perfect love. Each day I’m learning a little more of what it looks like to follow Jesus; some days that looks like two steps forward and one step back, and some days it looks more like one step forward and two steps back.
These are snapshots of my life, and our family life – pictures, quotes, musings, and if I’m brave enough, maybe even some poems.
I hope somehow it’s a blessing to you, wherever you are on your journey.
Love anna
